Notice to new patients in regards to Benzodiazepine
This surgery does not issue new or ongoing benzodiazepine prescriptions to new patients.
By benzodiazepine we mean medication such as Chlordiazepoxide, Lorazolam, Lorazepam, Lormetazepam, Nitrazepam, Oxazepam, Temazepam and Diazepam.
Patients taking this kind of medication will be offered a reduction programme.
Agreement with this policy is a strict requirement for registration with the surgery.
Patients unwilling to comply with this policy are advised to consider registering with a practice that is able to meet their needs
Once registration is complete you are registered with the practice and not a specific GP. You will automatically be allocated a named GP however this does not prevent you from requesting to see any GP.

Marus Bridge Practice is a ‘Safe Surgery’ for everyone – this means lack of ID or proof of address, immigration status or language will not be a barrier to registering at our practice. As a patient you have the right to express preference as to which GP you wish to see. However, if you require an appointment and your preferred GP is not available, you will be offered an appointment with another doctor. If you still wish to see your preferred GP you may have to wait longer.
Our Patient Support Team have all received training in relation to Safe Surgery which is carried out annually. The training aims to improve understanding of migrant entitlements to NHS care and enable our team to better advocate for patients.
